At home with Gary Conklin… the pics the cops don’t want you to see…
by Jody Sidote and Camille Marino
Earlier this week, we drove by Conklin Dairy Farms to see if it was still operational and, once we viewed the appalling conditions in which the slaves are still forced to live, we decided to see how their suffering has benefited their exploiter. As it turned out, dairy is a very lucrative business. Gary Conklin and his family live in a mansion — a far cry from the filth and stench of the farm.
We snapped a few pictures and left without incident. Shortly thereafter, the police were on a major road pulling over cars looking for us. When we drove by, officers were instantly in pursuit. We were informed that “stopping in front of that house is a crime,” the local cops proceeded to interrogate us, and collected & ran all of our information. We were repeatedly admonished for the “crime” of taking pictures of “his” house but lied about nothing and retained our cameras and phones.
